Kraft & Slash Full Official Release!!! (v1.0!)

We did it!!! Kraft & Slash is officially coming out on Android and iOS! This update has been a solid 3 months of work (!), and we're super excited to bring the game to iOS with tons of new features and polish.

Big shoutout to everyone who helped playtest in Discord - you were all great to work with :)

So what's new in the update? So much fun stuff. Here's the (nearly) exhaustive list:

  • Equipment! Equipment is a new system that allows you to augment each run! Equipment will boost your power, give you extra elements, bonus hearts, and generally add more variance to how you play the game! Earn stars after each level and find special combinations to unlock equipment, and equip up to 2 items per run. Earn extra stars by watching a short ad if you're on mobile (this also helps support us, so thank you!)
  • Skins! Change how Kraft looks with skins! Don a celestial night cap, a mailman uniform, or a cowboy hat to give Kraft a little extra flair. Some skins are free (purchase-able with stars), while others can be bought through In-App Purchases on mobile or donations on WebGL. Additionally, you can get Courier Kraft for free by subscribing to our newsletter!
  • Hints! Stars can also be used to give hints about new crafting recipes! Hints will prioritize giving a recipe using items in your inventory, but if that isn't possible then you'll just see a recipe for a random item you haven't yet discovered. Make sure you check the recipe before closing the hint window!
  • Cross-platform saving! On mobile, you can now log in to use a single account across devices. I may be able to move this feature to WebGL in the future, but it's mobile-only for the time being.
  • New music and sound effects! We replaced the main menu theme (good riddance, I say), and every single item now has custom sound effects. Hope you like how everything sounds now :)
  • Speedrunning timer! Challenge your friends to beat the game in the shortest possible time 😮 I'll probably add a leaderboard for times in a future update too.
  • Tons of quality of life updates: 
    • Test Area in the compendium lookup
    • Descriptions for all items
    • Level previews
    • Player invincibility indicator
    • Tutorial skipping
  • Bugfixes. A good lot of them.

Annnnd that's more or less it! Thank you all for sticking with us as we made Kraft & Slash. It's come a long way since our initial prototype just about a year ago, and we're proud to finally be releasing our first game. Kraft & Slash was a really fun project on the whole, and we've learned a lot and been extremely humbled by working with it.

So what does Kraft & Slash look like from this point forward? Well, that actually depends largely on what you want! We still intend to do occasional content updates - new levels, new items, new equipment - but there are lots of other features we've been interested in trying out. Player-vs-Player combat and custom level/weapon creation are two that I'm partial to, but let me know if you have any other ideas of fun ways to expand on the current game experience.
